In certain situations, it may be necessary that custody of a child be temporarily awarded to a family member. Florida Law allows for such a custody arrangement on a specific basis. A Petition for Temporary Custody must be filed with the Court. The reasons for the necessity of the temporary custody must be specifically written in the Petition. In many cases the parents of the child will consent to such an arrangement. However, if one or the other parent does not consent, then a family law judge will make a determination whether the temporary custody to a family member should be awarded.
The Lisa York Law Firm can represent either the parent, or the family member seeking the temporary custody. We will be with you every step of the way to determine what is in the best interest of the child.

I would recommend her to anyone that may be in the middle of a custody battle. Lisa York is, in my personal opinion, one of the best. She will forever have a place in my heart for all her hard work."

This is a very unique thing in the legal world since most lawyers want money up front before talking with you. As it turns out, my issue was outside of her lane and she was able to point me in the right direction. Thank you."
